Of India Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi-11011 for giving the opportunity to contribute towards all round development of cluster artisans. We are also thankful to Director, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) , Lalmati, Basistha Charali, Guawhati – 781029 Assam (Nodal Agency) and the Project Officer, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (NER), IIE Complex, Lalmati, Guwahati-781029 Assam for timely advise and initiatives extended to our organization in implementation the scheme successfully. We humbly owe much to the artisans who have come forward to work collectively under SFURTI scheme with and intention to make a self sustainable artisan’s society.

Utility Product: A wide range of mind boggling utility products can be made out of Sitalpati with the use of other materials. These products are available in various attractive forms in most of the local markets in the region. Obviously most people find these items very useful and also cost effective compared to the other available substitutes. So we find various Sitalpati products used as decorative show, as utility goods in many households and in various social institutions, government offices and restaurants all over the region. Nowadays these products have acquire a niche market in other metropolitan cities as well as result Sitalpati based products provide very high potential for income generation and employment opportunities in the rural areas.

Here we introduce a variety of diversified value products like Hand purse, Shoulder Bag, Side bag, School Bag , Mat, Tea tray, File cover, Table mat, Photo frame, Shoes etc. and in Sitalpati Basket, Magazine Basket, Paper basket, File Tray, Vegetable Basket, Serving Tray etc. In many of these products natural dye is used so that they become environment friendly to cater to the new needs of the market. Artisans try to experiment with imaginative and innovative styles and design so as to attract consumers. Many products as shown in this brochure do reflect such entrepreneurial adventurism.
